Job Description & Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Production Operations Management:
    • Oversee day-to-day production activities and operations at the site.
    • Ensure production processes are efficient, cost-effective, and meet quality standards.
    • Monitor and control production schedules, inventory levels, and resource allocation.
  2. Strategic Planning:
    • Develop and implement production plans and strategies to meet organizational goals.
    • Collaborate with senior management to align production goals with business objectives.
  3. Process Optimization:
    • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and productivity.
    • Utilize lean manufacturing principles and other best practices to optimize operations.
  4. Team Leadership:
    • Lead, manage, and develop a team of production and planning professionals.
    • Set performance goals, provide training, and conduct performance evaluations.
  5. Production Scheduling:
    • Create and manage production schedules to ensure timely delivery of products.
    • Coordinate with other departments (e.g., supply chain, logistics) to ensure seamless operations.
  6. Quality Control:
    • Ensure that production processes adhere to quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Address quality issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  7. Budget Management:
    • Develop and manage production budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
    • Monitor expenses and implement cost-control measures.
  8. Safety and Compliance:
    • Ensure that production operations comply with safety regulations and company policies.
    • Promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
  9. Stakeholder Communication:
    • Communicate effectively with internal stakeholders (e.g., senior management, other departments) and external partners (e.g., suppliers, customers).
    • Provide regular updates on production performance and planning activities.
  10. Crisis Management:
    • Address and resolve production-related issues and disruptions promptly.
    • Develop contingency plans to handle unexpected challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma) may be advantageous.
  • Experience: Several years of experience in production management, including experience in a leadership role. Experience in the specific industry or manufacturing environment is often required.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in production planning software and systems.
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
