Job Description & Requirements
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Planning:
- Develop and implement agricultural strategies and plans to achieve the company’s objectives.
- Analyze market trends, forecast production needs, and identify opportunities for growth and innovation.
- Operations Management:
- Oversee daily agricultural operations, including crop production, livestock management, and agro-processing.
- Ensure the efficient use of resources such as land, water, equipment, and labor.
- Implement and monitor sustainable agricultural practices.
- Team Leadership:
- Manage and lead a team of agricultural professionals, including agronomists, farm managers, and technical staff.
- Provide training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to enhance team productivity and skill development.
- Financial Management:
- Prepare and manage budgets for agricultural operations.
- Monitor financial performance and implement cost-effective measures to optimize profitability.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with suppliers, vendors, and customers.
- Compliance and Quality Control:
- Ensure compliance with local and international agricultural standards and regulations.
- Implement quality control measures to ensure the highest standards in production and processing.
- Manage risk, including pest control, disease management, and environmental impact.
- Innovation and Technology Integration:
- Explore and implement new technologies and innovations to improve agricultural efficiency and output.
- Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in agriculture and agro-industry.
- Reporting and Documentation:
- Prepare regular reports on agricultural operations, financial performance, and project progress.
- Maintain accurate records of all agricultural activities, including crop yields, resource usage, and labor.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Agronomy, Agricultural Engineering, or related field.
